Some of our puppies at their “new” homes
Message body
Yesterday was Lad’s 1 year birthday! We thought you might want to see your big boy a year later so here he is…all 90lbs. I must tell you his retrieve is excellent…really took to the water this past spring. We love him dearly!
Kandi,
Elly has been a true gift from day one. She is doing great. I think if I put her smile up against her mothers she would win all teeth squinted eyes it is a hoot, it makes her sneeze-so she has figured out if she puts a toy or blanket in her mouth she can still squint her eyes but not sneeze. With in the last month she has really stated to catch on to fetch outside-it took awhile anything at first distracted her out there- she just had to get used to her outdoor environment. Put in an invisible fence and it is going very well, our little girl always did listen to me -not so much to Bob if she thought she could run 3 lots down and see their lab pup away she went. She would always stop and look at him when called-and then run off:). Bob is loving the invisible fence. Do to the cold water temperature, my knee operation, and our traveling I have only tried to get her in the lake once-She wanted nothing to do with it! jewel was the same way slow starter too and then loved it. I will have to take some recent pictures of her and then figure out how to get them e-mailed to you. She is leggy, and lean then again maybe we just got used to short and square after Jewel. I take her to work with me and she and Diesel my son’s English bull dog get along great, and when we travel or if I think she is bored I take her to Pet Smart to play with other dogs. Since we were gonea week in March and now 2 week in early june I think they could name the place Elly Smart:) She is my true companion always by my side right now curled up in a chair in my office, at night on the couch by me, sleeps in bed with us or her kennel which is in our bedroom. When we left her this time I said to Bob do you think she will remember me and want to leave all the dogs at Pet Smart? His answer, she is a bright dog she Knows she has the good life and could not be loved more. Thank you Kandi – for she is MY JOY:)

Hi Kandi, it’s Jon again. First off, I just want to say thank you so much for such an unbelievable dog. I honestly couldn’t have hoped for anything better. He’s far exceeded any expectations I could have had.

Kandi,
I know that I am entirely prejudiced, but I think Ginger is the smartest puppy I’ve ever had! She seems to understand sit, she retrieves, she actually heels, she sleeps all night, she’s learnt how to go up stairs, but going down is still too scary. She seems to have won the cats over, and they even tolerate her wanting to play. Of course, she’s not a teenager yet…..
Everyone thinks she’s very beautiful, and our friends want to take her home with them.
We’re scheduled for the third set of shots for 3/29.
Thank you so much for letting Miss Ginger become part of our family. She’s a wonderful puppy.
Will keep you posted!

I know it’s much more meaningful when the kids are home for the holiday’s so here’s one of yours!
Lad is doing absolutely fantastic and growing like a weed. He is right on schedule with his training and loves to retrieve. Of course he is still a wicked boy and loves to chew…on everything. No brake lines as yet! It appears he is going to be very dark and large…exactly what we wanted, and I think an excellent hunter as well.
Congrats on Maggie’s pups they really look dark. Say hello to Lilly for us, we’re kinda fond of her and Brick.
Be in touch and peace be with you.

Hello Kandi.
I just wanted to let you know that today I received Lad’s AKC registration and pedigree. He also made his first trip last week to his new vet where he was given his nine week vaccinations and had an ID chip implanted. He was the star of the vet’s office!
Lad is doing very well and just two nights ago began to sleep all night without crying or needing to go outside. Our plan is for him to sleep outside in his doghouse eventually but that is not working out at this time. He sleeps in his crate in a spare bedroom next to our sons room. Did I mention he likes to chew!? On everything! He has 5 different chew toys and yet …. I have a great idea for your toy baskets…shoestrings! I’ll be buying a new pair tomorrow.
He is a wicked boy and we love him very much. Can’t thank you enough for letting us have him. We are very proud of our Lad. I’ll try to send some pics next time.

Hi Kandi! We just returned from Wal-Mart with a few toys for “Tucker”. He is doing wonderful! He is so attentive and smart. He knows his name and will come when we call Tucker Come. He will fetch and return a ball and a sock. I am sitting on the floor inside with him, he is playing with his teething plastic ball and other toys. They are what he needed as he wants to get his mouth on everything. Our lab, Gunner, has a small area that he stays in, in our house. Tucker is being really good about learning his boundaries. He is amazing! We haven’t had any problem with him using the bathroom inside. He walks farther away in the yard when he has to poop.
I will miss him when I have to return to work tomorrow. David is not busy with farming right now, so he has a lot of time to spend with Tucker. He is going to fence in a small area so we will have a place to put him and a dog house when David needs to be back in the field. I wouldn’t be surprised is David takes Tucker with him in the tractor! Gunner sleeps in an air conditioned shop. Tucker has spent the past two nights in the shop with Gunner and gotten along fine.
Gunner is warming up to Tucker. Tucker would like for him to play, but Gunner is happy to watch. Tucker has kept us entertained this cool, wet holiday weekend. He is a sweetheart!
We enjoyed meeting you and your clan. You have beautiful dogs and gave Tucker a wonderful start. We are already thinking that we will need another puppy in a couple of years. I will send pictures shortly.
Take care! Janet

Pics from Murdock’s recent 6 month bday!! Fine studly young pup, don’t ya think? He surely has some Magee genes in him too….IMG_1491IMG_1504IMG_1498Kandi,Just thought I would send a picture of Macey. Hi KandiShe is so much fun! Gets into her “crazy” puppy moments but such a great girl. Here she is on our deck. I’ll send you another that shows she looks so much like her Dad.

Dave had asked me so share some of our pictures with you. We were so delighted to get to meet Cowgirl in December and spend some time with she and Jessi. We had such a marvelous trip. We tease that it was Kinley’s trip, we got the motor home specifically so she could travel with us and she loved it, as you can see in the photo.
I’ve attached some of my favorite photos of everyone. Dave just has a way with puppies, and Cowgirl was completely enamored with him. My very favorite though is the one of the three of them that perfectly depicts their personalities. Kinley is calm and dignified sitting by her Daddy, and Cowgirl is upside down, going woo hoo lets play! J
The German Shepherd is my baby girl. She just passed two weeks ago. She was 12, and we all miss her so much. She and Kinley were together constantly for the past year, and had spent great amounts of time together for the year prior. It’s heartbreaking to see how much Kinley misses Tazlina, she’s such a special girl.
I so appreciate that you stay so close to all your puppies. Thanks for doing such a great job.
All the best,
~Debbie
I wanted to let you know two things. First of all you can’t believe my sigh of relief when Lad made it without a hitch through his surgery for neuter last week. As you know I lost my Jessy that way and was quite nervous when Lad”s time came. But as I said no problems. He was 62 lbs last week and healthy as can be. My has he become a water lover and the retrieve is outstanding. Kandi he is everything that I wanted!
About two months ago Mary and I noticed that Lad was a bit sad and seemed a bit bored. Mostly we think he was lonely. Human contact can take a dog only so far. We decided to get Lad a companion. We opted for the most incredible German Shepherd you ever did see. He is now five months and he and Laddie are best of buddies (like peas and carrots.) Although the GSD is 2 months younger than Lad he weighed in at 57 lbs at the vet yesterday and is now standing taller than Lad. These two are the only AKC dogs we’ve ever owned and I must admit quite worth it. We took a page from your book and I hope you don’t mind but we named our German Shepherd pup AMMO. We love them both and frankly they love each other…best friends and partners in crime.
I hope you and yours are well…from the Redmoon web site it sounds as though you are busy with puppies as usual. I’ve enclosed a few pics of our boys!
Peace be with you
Greg Johnson
